This week the students will be introduced to the letter K. We will begin our week listing words on the board that begin with this letter. We will practice the sound and we will practice writing the K. The class will learn a rhyme using the letter as I introduce them to Kerry Koala.
For our science activity we will talk about kites. I will invite the students to share any experiences they have had with kites. They will share their ideas on how a kite flies. We will color and cut out a paper kite, and read a story about the box kite. I will share pictures of six different kinds of kites to the class.
Our number for the week will be “13”. We will review the square shape and the colors red and yellow. We will sort red and yellow square blocks during math.
