This week the students will be introduced to the letter R. We will begin our week by listing words on the board that begin with this letter. We will practice the sound and we will practice writing the R. The class will learn a rhyme using the letter as I introduce them to Rodney Raccoon. We will create tactile letter R’s using rice.
For our science activity we will talk about rain. Everyone will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about rain. I will read a book to the class called “When the Rain Came Down”.
Our number for the week will be “19”. We will continue to practice home phone numbers, months of the year, days of the week, and color words. On Friday, we will enjoy rice crispy treats!
